We're excited to host a Thanksgiving Community Lunch at our Woodlawn campus, open to all and especially our homeless neighbors. We’re calling on those with a heart to serve to join us in creating a memorable day filled with food, fellowship, and fun! Volunteers will help serve a delicious Thanksgiving meal, join in prayer with families, share in conversation at the table, and participate in games and giveaways. Let’s come together to make this Thanksgiving a special day for our community!
Join us in being the hands and feet of Jesus this Thanksgiving! We’re looking for passionate volunteers to help us bless 50 families in the Harris Homes area with a Thanksgiving meal, including a turkey and a thoughtfully prepared box of food. Together, we’ll decorate and pray over each box, share a moment of prayer with families, and bring the warmth of the holiday season to those who may be facing challenges. This is a beautiful opportunity to serve, connect, and make a meaningful impact in our community—come be part of this mission!
This year we’ll share the love of Jesus by delivering gift cards from local grocery stores to families in our community. Families will also receive cards that our sweet kiddos in HK are making, scripture cards, and Highland’s service invites! We’ll have the opportunity to pray with these families and invite them to a Sunday service. We'll be in the small meeting room by the back door at 9:30am. Remember to wear your red serve shirt!
From now until December 7th we will be collecting gently used packing/wrapping boxes for Giving Hope Gift Wrap. You may drop them off at the Riverchase campus during the week, but please text me (205)807-5756 and let me know when you plan to drop them off so they can be stored in the correct spot. Lynnlee Victoria Hoppes was born prematurely at 22 weeks on January 22, 2023 at UAB. During her 19 days of life, she listened to her parents read books, pray, and sing worship songs. She and her parents were very blessed to have family and friends rally around them to provide items, food, and prayer during this time. However, not every family has that amount of support during those trying times, as some come to the hospital unexpectedly with nothing. We are asking for books to donate to the NICU families in memory of Lynnlee so other families can bond with their babies. The donations can be sent directly to me (Lynnlee’s mom) from the Amazon wishlist link below- or message me for the address if you would like to buy books another way! We will send a note along with each book, and deliver them to UAB in January to celebrate Lynnlee’s second birthday. Thank you for helping us honor her, and for supporting the families in the NICU! Please text 256-280-1658 with any questions! https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/2X4ZHEBH8TS7G?ref_=wl_share
