Join us as we write Letters of Hope to the residents of the Alabama Department of Corrections. This one-way communication is written based on the prayer requests of those attending our services and small groups behind the fences each week. Each Sunday our correctional ministry teams present the previous week’s message and offer prayer and fellowship for those who attend. Those attending services are encouraged to complete our Connection Card and voice their prayer requests and praises. You will be providing encouragement, scripture, prayer and a tremendous blessing to each recipient as this is often the only communication they ever receive from the outside world. Due to the confidentiality of this serve opportunity, participants and attendees must be 18 years old or older, childcare will not be available. All supplies will be provided. This serve will be at our Church Campus in Florence and will begin at 8:00 before Saturday morning prayer which begins at 9:00. Feel free to attend prayer OR continue writing until we end our time together at 10:00! Please call or text Lynnette Walker with any questions at 205-412-4763.
We will meet in the parking lot of Roses on Macon Road and hand out biscuits and spend time praying over people. If you can please arrive at 8:30 to huddle and set up. We will begin praying and handing out biscuits at 9. If you aren’t comfortable praying know there is still a place for you at this serve. We need people helping with food, holding signs, and taking pictures. Come join us and be blessed by blessing others.
Here are some things we will be doing! -Distribute non-perishable food items. -Distribute coats and warm items as available. Help us kick off the school year by filling backpacks with essential school supplies for students in need in our community! We’ll be packing items like pencils, crayons, and more—making sure every child starts the year prepared and confident. This is a hands-on, family-friendly serve opportunity where every backpack stuffed is a seed of encouragement sown into a student’s life. Let’s come together to show God’s love in a practical way and help set the tone for a great school year!
