What: Items for Baskets Drop-off When: July 11, 4-6 PM Where: Auburn-East campus under awning by HK doors Drop off donations to bless single mothers and widows for our Baskets of Blessings Serve at Highlands Auburn East campus, 4pm-6pm, Friday, July 11 under the awning by the HK doors! Items will be put in gift baskets for single moms and widows. Please feel free to sign up to join us to pack the baskets as well on July 12th on another Serve listing! Suggested items: gift cards (any kind and any dollar amount), journals, stationery, scented candles, pretty hand towels, car wash coupons/gift cards, or small gift items, full-sized toiletry items, blankets, Bath and Body type items, hard candy.

🛠️ Serve Day 2025 – Glen Iris Elementary Construction & Light Repair Team 🏗️ Project Vision This team will provide light construction, structural support, and installation assistance in key areas of the campus. While our tasks are limited to what is school-approved and safe for volunteer teams, our efforts will bring needed order and function to outdoor and shared spaces. 🔨 Planned Construction Projects PE Equipment Storage Buildout Construct or assemble a small storage area or rack for organizing PE balls, cones, and jump ropes Ensure structure is weather-resistant if outdoors or neatly placed if indoors Garden Area Fencing Install or repair a low-profile fence around the front garden area Fence should define space and prevent trampling, not enclose or obstruct views Sensory Gazebo Safety Fence (if approved) Add a small barrier or edging around the gazebo pond or flower beds Child-safe materials only (no sharp edges or trip hazards) Wall Mounting Projects (Main Hall Level) Hang lightweight bulletin boards, inspirational signs, framed art, or dry-erase boards Install coat hooks or command shelving in teacher/student shared spaces (only in approved areas) Secure Loose Fixtures or Outdoor Structures Check and tighten railings, gates, or benches as needed 📦 Requested Materials 2x4 or 2x2 wood slats for simple storage rack Wood screws, nails, brackets, and hardware Plastic/wood fencing panels or rolls Zip ties, metal ties, or ground stakes Drill, screwdrivers, small hammer Level, measuring tape, step ladder Mounting hardware (anchors, wall-safe screws) Safety gloves, goggles, and cleanup bags 🧑‍🔧 Volunteer Skills Needed Basic carpentry or handyman skills Ability to use power drills, hammers, measuring tools Comfort with building light-weight storage or fencing Familiarity with school-safe hanging practices Creativity in solving small problems on the spot 🧭 Leadership & Limitations All construction and mounting will be approved in advance by the school leader or Serve Day site coordinator. Volunteers will follow safety guidelines and work under the direction of the Construction Sub-Leader, with flexibility for adjusting plans based on weather, materials, or school input.

Join us in blessing the hardworking staff of Huntsville Hospital’s NICU by providing them with goodie baskets! Please purchase any items you wish to include in advance and bring them with you on Serve Day. Baskets will be assembled in Dream Team Central at the Huntsville Campus and then delivered to Huntsville Hospital on Serve Day. Examples of items to include are: Individually packaged snack items - chips, candy, gum, trail mix, granola bars, etc. Drink flavorings - lemonade, tea, Liquid IV, etc. Bottled drinks - Gatorade, energy drinks, coffee, etc. Any other fun items you can think of - badge reels, fun pens, baby Sharpies, etc.!

Our pk playground needs some work to be ready for the school year. We need to even out the mulch, tie down the screens, spray much glue, install sun shades, remove outdated equipment, install barriers, out together new equipment.

Come grab a cup of coffee and join us as we write & decorate encouragement cards/notes to be sent to the widows of our house! Cards, supplies, postage will be provided, however, please feel free to bring any special cards/pens/stickers/etc. you would like to personally use and/or donate for this purpose as well as the names/addresses of any widows you may know who could use a word of encouragement as they check their mailbox! You do NOT have to be a widow to attend/serve, but if you are, you might just make a new friend!
