Riverchase

LEADER Morgan Kern DESCRIPTION

3rd Saturday of every month 8:30am to 12:30pm. Bring your family and serve at a food bank. Opportunities to fill grocery bags, load cars, organize, and pray with recipients. This project is a blessing for the people we serve, and we are blessed in giving of ourselves. This is a great project for individuals and families alike. Maturity level is more important than age. The food giveaway occurs every third Saturday of the month. This is a good project if you are looking for a place to serve on a more regular basis. We have families that serve every month, once a quarter, and once a year. Come and be the hands and feet of Christ! We are in need of prayer warriors!!

Shoals

LEADERS PAMELA BLACK, MARY Lindsey DESCRIPTION

Hello to the Outreach, Widows and Prayer teams, and to anyone who wants to participate in overflow of compassion for a child of God. Let’s utilize our love for our Widow Family to influence us to come out and demonstrate kindness and generosity by beautifying the yard of Ms Gail, and praying for her and her daughter on First Saturday Serve April 5. Our Ms Mary would like to show her neighbor we are a church that enjoys serving our community. Ms Mary would like for us to bag the leaves that are in the flowerbeds, pull a few weeds, trim a few small plants and surprise her with cleaning her gutters. We want to beautify the place for her to relax and enJOY the landscape that she and her late husband created together. Bring your gloves, tools listed [if you have them], and especially your big hearts and smiles. God bless you for your support.

Fultondale

LEADER Jennifer Winborn DESCRIPTION

The primary goal of Letters of Hope is to reach out to individuals in prison, offering a message of hope and reminding them that they are not forgotten and that they are part of our church family as well! Our services at Church of the Highlands are also broadcasted in Alabama Correctional Facilities. The inmates there have some of the same opportunities that we have as a church family, such as filling out a Connection Card stating they have accepted Christ or requesting prayer on the prayer portion of that Connection Card. What we do in Letters of Hope is reply to that card and celebrate with them if they have accepted Christ for the first time or acknowledge and pray with them using scripture in letter form. There are some guidelines involving this project. Some of them include: -Letters must be on COH Letterhead -Must use blue or black ink -Must use COH envelopes -No stickers or decoration of any kind -Your name is NOT included anywhere There are specific layouts/guidelines we use to write the letters and the envelope to be done as it has to meet the standards for delivery once they reach the Correctional Facility. I will email out this information once you sign up. But it is very simple. My goal is to get everyone the stationery, envelopes and guidelines in hand between now and April 5th and copies of the Connection Cards to you so they can be completed on or before April 5th and having a designated drop place for them on the Fultondale Campus, so when you come to service on Sunday, April 6th you can drop them off.
