We are honored to partner with Wellhouse Child, a residential program in St. Clair County, Alabama, that provides a safe haven for young girls, ages 14-18, who have been rescued from sex trafficking. These brave children are given the opportunity to heal and rebuild their lives through the care and support they receive at Wellhouse Child. Unlike Wellhouse Women, the children do not have Food Stamps so snacks and meal donations are a huge need and blessing. As part of our outreach, we are collecting: 1. Individual bags of chips 2. Coats of all sizes for adults and children needed for homeless and those in need in the Birmingham and surrounding area. Give away events planned for 11/2 ,12/7, January and February during our First Saturday Serve. You can contact Dawn Smith for pick up or you can drop off at Greystone Campus.
We are collecting snacks that the kids can have at snack time during school. 50% of the kids at Vincent Elementary are food insecure and we want to help provide snacks for the kids so they are not hungry while they are trying to learn. Snacks can be dropped off Monday - Friday in the church offices or on Saturday or Sunday by the info booth. Possible items to buy: Peanut butter or cheese crackers Snack size bags of nuts, trail mix Granola bars Breakfast bars Snack size bags of popcorn Etc.
The Pelham Pregnancy recourse center is in desperate need of baby items for their boutique! New or gently used clothes, toys, furniture, baby foods and formula. Gift cards for Walmart or Target can be given so the director can purchase specific items! They are mainly in need of diapers sized newborn and up as well as pull ups. This Christ based center has spoken life into countless families in our community. As a part of the save a life foundation they offer assistance with baby necessities to help ease the financial burden from the woman who chose life. They not only provide health services and counseling for expecting mothers and families, but they also provide biblical based parenting classes in which the families can earn points to purchase baby items for free in their boutique. Many families who are in hard ship have been blessed by this agency and I hope and pray that you will join me in blessing them back! Please reach out to me to arrange donation pick ups or drop offs! Make Christmas cards for the ladies at the Alabama Therapeutic Education Facility in Columbiana. Make cards at home - draw pictures, write Scripture and words of encouragement and love.
