Mat Makers do much more than make mats for the homeless from plastic bags. One of our favorite ministries is making walker bags for the elderly. We will have these on display. We are always needing more fabric and buttons (about the size of a quarter or larger) for this ministry. We also make lots of scarves and hats for the homeless in our area. Most of these are crocheted using yarn. So, yarn is needed, too. On First Saturday Serve we will be collecting fabric, buttons, and yarn for these ministries, and, of course, plastic bags for making our mats.
