Join us in serving Norwood Elementary School by helping with an interior painting project to refresh and brighten the learning environment for students and staff. This project will be led by the school’s staff and Church of the Highlands, we will assist with painting classrooms, hallways, and common areas. No prior painting experience is required—just a willing heart and a helpful spirit. All supplies will be provided.
This serve opportunity is vital for helping the school start the new school year fresh and organized, providing an accessible space for student resources. Assess and Sort: Upon arrival, you'll help sort through various items in the storage area. This might involve categorizing items by type (e.g., all school supplies together, all clothing together). Clean and Tidy: As you organize, we'll also be tidying the space, wiping down shelves, and ensuring the area is clean. Organize and Label: The main goal is to create a logical and organized system. This will involve: Arranging items neatly on shelves or in designated bins. Labeling sections or containers clearly so items can be easily found and put away in the future. Consolidating similar items to maximize space. Teamwork: You'll be working alongside other volunteers. Collaboration will be key to efficiently tackling the project.

For this indoor Serve Day project, volunteers will come together to deep clean Mitchell’s Place Southside—a nonprofit clinic dedicated to serving children with autism and other developmental disabilities. The project will include washing windows, wiping down walls and baseboards, and disinfecting toys and therapy materials to create a refreshed, safe, and welcoming environment for the children and families we serve. As we work, we’re believing that the Lord will be present in every detail, using even these simple acts of service to bring His blessing, peace, and joy to the hearts and homes connected to Mitchell’s Place.
