Join us for a special serve opportunity as we assemble hygiene bags for correctional facilities across the state. Bring your friends and those you serve alongside - everyone is welcome! Together we will extend love and encouragement to our extended church family through this meaningful project. As we assemble the bags, we’ll also take time to pray over them and the individuals who will receive them. Let’s make a difference, one bag at a time.

Please join us in making care packages for the men at the Alexander City Work Release facility. Many of these men attend Highlands services regularly and God is really moving within the Alabama prison system! Begin collecting bars of soap and stick deodorant. We will also be including a short handwritten (anonymous) note in each bag to tell them of God’s great love for them. You can begin writing these ahead of time on small blank note cards (thank you note sized). Additional items will be purchased and included in the bags. Come help us pack the care packages and write notes on Serve Day!!

Please be in prayer about this commitment… Contact me, Liz Belk, to find out how. We will also include thank you letters to express how they have impacted our lives. You can bring some already prepared, but we will also have note cards to be written before we make our deliveries.

Shoals

LEADER Lynnette Walker DESCRIPTION

Join us as we write Letters of Hope to the residents of the Alabama Department of Corrections. This one-way communication is written based on the prayer requests of those attending our services and small groups behind the fences each week. Each Sunday our correctional ministry teams present the previous week’s message and offer prayer and fellowship for those who attend. Those attending services are encouraged to complete our Connection Card and voice their prayer requests and praises. You will be providing encouragement, scripture, prayer and a tremendous blessing to each recipient as this is often the only communication they ever receive from the outside world. Due to the confidentiality of this serve opportunity, participants and attendees must be 18 years old or older, childcare will not be available. All supplies will be provided. This serve will be at our new Church Campus in Florence and will begin at 8:00 before Saturday morning prayer which begins at 9:00. Feel free to attend prayer OR continue writing until we end our time together at 10:00! Please call or text Lynnette Walker with any questions at 205-412-4763.
