You’ll select a child’s back-to-school supply list, shop that morning for their backpack and essentials, and return it filled and ready to give—all before noon. It’s a hands-on, heart-filled way for kids to help kids and for families to make a difference together! Every child deserves to start the school year strong—and every kid can be part of the story!

Gadsden

LEADER Valerie Goodman DESCRIPTION

After you complete the SERVE APP registration for COTH Serve Day, PLEASE click this link to sign up directly with SHP as they can only accommodate 100 volunteers and require an additional waiver to be signed. Thank you. https://volunteer.shpbeds.org/opportunities/8wX6FvlQNS Thank you for choosing to join with Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SHP) to deliver beds to children in need in the communities we live in and serve on July 12th. We believe we are stronger and better together. We will assemble at the Gadsden Campus of Church of The Highlands at 7:30 AM (if you are looking at the church, we will assemble in the right parking lot - look for the SHP delivery trailer). Upon arrival, our team will check to make sure you have a signed SHP waiver on file (this is an additional form to the COTH registration that is required by SHP). If you do not have an SHP signed waiver, no worries - we will have you complete one for each member of your family upon arrival. It's a simple process and will only take about 20 seconds. Please be advised that you will be required to drive your own vehicle to deliveries. You will be placed on a team before heading out and equipped with addresses in the order of delivery. Our hopes are to serve at least 50 children that day. There are a few things that will help you get the most of your volunteer experience. 1) Plan to arrive 10 minutes early (7:20 AM) to check in and receive your delivery team assignments. At this time, our team will double check to make sure you have a SHP waiver on file for each member of your family. 2) We highly recommend that you wear closed-toed shoes. Do not wear flip flops. 3) JULY in ALABAMA IS HOT HOT HOT! We all know this! We encourage you to dress appropriately, bring your own water, sports drinks, and coolers. The homes we go into may or may not have air-conditioning. We look forward to seeing you there! Thank you for serving with Sleep In Heavenly Peace on the Annual COTH SERVE DAY!
