LEADER William Umbarger DESCRIPTION

Come join us as we build relationships throughout the Northwood and Love Communities over a shared meal and groceries from Manna House. This serve happens every Monday night (rain or shine) so we can become friends and neighbors throughout the community sharing the unconditional love of Jesus! We meet at the Serve Trailers in the Cavalry Hill Neighborhood Center parking lot located at 2900 Fairbanks Ave SW Huntsville AL 35816 no later than 5:45 pm. Once there you are placed on a team to help deliver hot meals and groceries to our neighbors. COME JOIN US! FOR THOSE LIST PEOPLE- Here we go: 1. Come ready to love others unconditionally in your red SERVE shirt. ( We have plenty if you don't have one) 2. Teams will split up into 5 or more people. (We can work with 7 teams- the goal is 14 teams [BRING YOUR SMALL GROUP!]) 3. In groups of 2 or more, we will go door-to-door connecting and loving the community through shared meals. When we finish we rally back at the SERVE trailer and share prayers and testimonies of the night. Let's love our city with the unconditional love of Jesus!

LEADER Julie Spencer DESCRIPTION

This project is geared toward women and children. The Lovelady Center (LC) Card Project to benefit the residents of the Lovelady Center. Their mission is to: "Help women rebuild their lives and walk forward with faith-driven hope for the future as a contributing member of our community. The Lovelady Program ensures each woman is taught how to overcome barriers to success by providing access to needed services." Some guidelines for the project: 1. The LC continually needs cards of encouragement so you cannot make too many or too few. 2. Prayerfully write each card and be intentional about the message, whether you purchase or make them. 3. Take your time. It is better to make/write 1 with purpose than 50 hastily thrown together. 4. Locate scripture that speaks to: how God loves us how He has a plan and purpose for us God does not condemn us forgives us and remembers the sin no more He is a loving Father Christ died for us we have hope and can live with Him in eternity 5. Try to place each card/letter in its own envelope so the ladies have their own personal mail to open. 6. You may sign your FIRST NAME ONLY to the cards. 7. You may write on the front of the envelope: For a Lovelady, For a Child of God (any such sentiment that is genuine) 8. PLEASE DO NOT SEAL THE ENVELOPE. Mail and packages are subject to inspection for the safety of all involved. 9. Put all the cards/letters in one larger envelope. Seal this one and address to: Joni Morton, Volunteer Coordinator c/o The Lovelady Center 7916 2nd Avenue South Birmingham, AL 35206 Thank you!

We will be providing a SERVE collecting plastic grocery style bags. These bags will be used by the women of the Alabama Department of Corrections to crochet sleeping mats for our homeless community. It takes 500-700 bags to complete one 6’ mat. With the colder months approaching, the need for the mats are increasing. Our plans are to provide this serve ongoing! What a beautiful way for the inmates to give back and a great way for you to recycle! All done in the name of Christ Our Lord. Drop-off during the week at the Greystone offices or weekend at the info desk.
