GRANTS MILL

Aiding Native American Outreach

LOCATION 4700 Highlands Way Birmingham, Alabama 35210 DESCRIPTION

Join us as we aid Sacred Road Ministries in creative outreach during the Covid 19 pandemic to support the children, teenagers, and adults on the Yakama Indian Reservation in Washington State. A mobile library called “Bookin’ It”is being constructed on the Reservation by Sacred Road to safely offer free books, academic resources, activities, school supplies, snacks, and internet hotspot for students to log in to online classes. All of these items and services are going to be provided in the safest ways possible during this Covid 19 season. We are collecting the following items to be shipped to Sacred Road on the Yakama Reservation to support this creative effort: - Gift cards to be used to purchase items for building the mobile library, cleaning supplies, and for purchasing items/ food to be distributed- Walmart, Costco, Lowe’s, & Home Depot are best. - Handmade masks for children, teenagers, & adults (please avoid red and blue colors) - Books ( contact Serve leader for list of Christian and Native American books for ordering) - Laptops and tablets (along with charging / power cords) - Notes of encouragement for those living on the Yakama Reservation as well as the staff and volunteers at Sacred Road Ministries during this challenging season. Please drop off these items to the Grants Mill Campus near the Children’s Entrance Tuesday October 13 from 4:30-6:00pm. Another drop off date will be Thursday October 15 from 2:30-4:00pm. Please email with questions. Thanks so much for loving our first neighbors well.
